Background

Shelly Bay Baker bakes a range of sourdough breads, bagels and loaves every day. Their secret, which gives their bread a sensational flavour and aroma, is their fresh stoneground flour which is made in-house from organic NZ whole-grains. These tantalisingly delicious breads are sold both in-store and on their website.


The Challenge

Prior to switching to Addressfinder, Shelly Bay Baker was using their e-commerce platform’s default address fields which allowed customers to enter whatever they wanted.

The address information gathered from customers was often inaccurate. These bad addresses caused deliveries to go to the wrong place and forced drivers to return to base and contact the customer and clarify their address.

There was also no way to prevent customers, who live outside of their delivery zones, from making purchases.

The Result

Shelly Bay Baker is now using Addressfinder’s address autocomplete service on their online checkout. The export of address data from their online store, to the deliverer, is now automated and error free.

By using Addressfinder’s suburb metadata, Shelly Bay Baker now checks if a delivery address lies within their delivery zones. This is done on the checkout and prevents ‘out of the delivery zone’ purchases being made.

Deliveries are made without a hitch, ensuring happy customers can now get bread fresh and straight from the oven!
