Billing

Billing for Addressfinder is per organisation. Organisations are administrative entities that enable you to add users, share license keys, and manage billing. Organisations are billed for usage. Refer to our pricing page for details.

View invoices

You can view and download invoices from the Billing section in the Portal. These invoices are stored in Stripe so you'll be directed to the Stripe billing portal where you can download the invoice and receipt.

Payment options

Annual Business plans and all Enterprise Plans can be paid for either by credit card or invoice/bank transfer. All Agile plans and Monthly Business plans must be paid for by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or AMEX)

How we store and use credit cards

Credit card information is not held in the Addressfinder systems but is captured and stored in Stripe. A stored credit card will be charged when initially signing up to a paid plan, on plan renewal and during the plan change process.

Stored credit cards may also be charged in the event where you have procured additional services from us which exist outside of the features of your plan. In these circumstances we will get your permission prior to charging your card.

Pre-authorisation requests

We may send a pre-authorisation request to the issuing bank to verify a bank will authorize charges. Some credit card companies present these as real charges, which may surprise you.

A pre-auth is really just a hold on a credit card; it is not a real charge. We’ll typically pre-authorise a small amount (usually less than $5) after sign-up, then cancel the authorisation immediately. Banks may show the pre-auth for up to 7 days, even though we have not collected any money.

Pay by invoice

Organisations on an annual Business plan or Enterprise plan may choose to pay by invoice.

Invoices will be emailed to the billing contact's email address at the beginning of each billing period. Payment terms are 20th of the month following.

Annual plans

An annual plan gives you the ability to pay for a year's worth of lookups but them at any stage over the course of that year. An annual plan gives you the ability to use your lookups at any stage over the course of a year so you can offset busy months with quiet months.

Annual Plans are also the preferred option of Organisations paying by invoice, which is available with annual Business or Enterprise plans.

Monthly plans

Monthly plans are ideal for new customers and those expecting significant growth where predicting annual lookup numbers might be difficult.

How Monthly Plans work

  • Our Monthly plans are prepaid only, meaning you prepay one month worth of lookups in one go.
  • If you use all of your prepaid lookups, your plan will not auto-renew early. Instead, you’ll be able to continue using services until the end of the monthly term at which time you’ll be charged for the extra lookups (overage) you’ve used.

How it works

  • Our annual plans are prepaid only, meaning you prepay one year worth of lookups in one go. You can use these lookups with any of our verification services during the 12 month billing period.
  • If you use all of your prepaid lookups, your plan will auto-renew early for another year.

Changing plans

You can request to change your plan at any time, free of charge. To change plan, go to the Billing section in the Portal and click on Change plan.

When will my plan change happen?

Monthly plans

  • Upgrades take effect immediately, so you can access new features and improved pricing straight away. Your new billing period will start immediately, and you’ll receive an invoice for the new plan plus any overage charges from your previous plan..
  • Downgrades will be scheduled after the end of the current billing period. If you change your mind, you can pick a different plan at any time before the plan change occurs.

Annual plans

  • Upgrades and downgrades will both take effect either once you consume 100% of the lookups included in your current plan or at the end of your current billing period.

Cancel your subscription

To cancel an active subscription, go to the Billing section in the Portal and go through the Cancel steps at the bottom of the page.

You will still be able to use your subscription until the end of your current billing period.

To avoid being charged for extra lookups after cancelling, we recommend removing your Addressfinder integrations from your websites so as to stop the service immediately

What is a lookup?

A lookup is the unit we use to measure your actual usage of our service.

Rather than counting every single API query, we only count lookups when your system successfully verifies or collects something meaningful - like a verified address, phone number, email, or location.

This way, you’re not charged for each keystroke or suggestion while your customer is typing, but only when you capture data that’s truly useful for your business.

Example of a lookup: When a user selects a verified address from the widget dropdown.

What if I run out of lookups?

Monthly plan

If you use all the lookups included in your monthly plan, the Addressfinder service will keep running - there’s no throttling or interruption.

Any extra lookups you use beyond your plan’s allowance will simply be counted as overage. These are charged at the same rate as your plan and billed at the end of your billing period.

If you often go over your monthly allowance, it may be more cost-effective to upgrade to a larger plan.

Annual plan

If you use all the lookups included in your annual plan, your plan will automatically renew for a new 12-month term.

To help you keep track, we’ll email you when you reach 80% and again at 95% of your lookup limit.

If you receive these emails early in your plan year, it might be economical to choose a larger plan to renew onto.
