LINZ deprecated three NZ address datasets. Here's what we did.
In March 2026, LINZ deprecated three of the datasets we draw on for our New Zealand address data. We updated to the replacements. Here's what changed.
What changed

The first two were straightforward swaps. The third required a different approach. AIMS: Address had no direct replacement, so we moved to NZ Primary Parcels.
This dataset assigns parcel IDs to addresses more completely than its predecessor, and the results back that up: the updated data includes 100,000 additional parcel IDs that weren't there before, mostly for unit addresses.
What you need to do
Nothing. No API changes, no integration updates required.
