Address verification

Transform messy data into a clean, verified format that works across your entire business

What is a verified address?

A verified address is real and recognised by authoritative sources such as the NZ Post PAF, Stats NZ, Australia Post PAF, G-NAF and more

Verified addresses should:
Follow standardised address structure
Be in correct order and free of spelling errors
Be capable of receiving mail or packages, for the most part
Compatible to the rules of couriers (NZ Post, delivery companies and more)

Address verification looks simple on the surface, the complexity quickly emerges as you dive into unit numbers, new builds, PO boxes, rural addresses and users meaning one thing yet typing another.

At Addressfinder, we have spent over a decade building verification that handles regional Australia and New Zealand nuances.

How it works

Addressfinder’s address verification service performs four steps when an address is being verified. We offer a range of address verification integration options to suit your unique business requirements.

1. Parsing and normalisation

The address is parsed into components and arranged into a standardised address order, with non-address content removed.

2. Potential matching identification

Our matching algorithm works to identify verified addresses which maybe a match the provided address.

3. Match elimination and confidence

Filter what options to display in the autocomplete and exclude certain address types like PO Boxes or rural addresses.

4. Response

Once a match is made with a single verified address, that verified address and associated metadata is returned. If no address match, the service will return a match:false response.

Easy to use and reliable

We understand the complexities of address data so you don’t have to. We aim to provide un-interrupted service so your business can run smoothly at all times.

“We can rely that the address data from Addressfinder is accurate and formatted correctly. Because of this we have had a significant drop in mail bounceback, and have been able to make much better judgments on where to place new gyms.”
