Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses are here

Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses are now searchable and verifiable via Addressfinder. Here's what that means and what you need to do.

Parcel locker and parcel collect addresses are now available via Addressfinder services

Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses are now live in Addressfinder

What are Parcel Lockers?

Parcel Lockers and Parcel Collect points are secure collection locations where Australia Post delivers parcels on behalf of recipients. Over 4,000 of these locations are now in the Australia Post Postal Address File (PAF) for the first time - and Addressfinder customers can now search and verify against them in real-time and in bulk.

We completed our AMAS recertification and integration work and after a few Australia Post data delays, it's now live!

Why this matters

This is a significant change for both businesses and their customers. For the first time, Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses can be matched against an official, authoritative source. That changes what's possible at checkout and across your fulfilment processes.

For shoppers, it means more convenient delivery options. Pick a Parcel Locker near work, avoid missed deliveries at remote addresses or simply choose a more reliable collection point. Additionally, those addresses can now be properly autocompleted and verified at checkout.

For businesses, now that these addresses are in the PAF they can appear in autocomplete suggestions and be captured accurately at checkout. This means businesses can:

  • Convert shoppers who prefer a Parcel Locker delivery address
  • Generate labels without manual correction or intervention
  • Pass verified, clean address data through to fulfilment
  • Set rules on how Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses are handled in your systems
  • Cleanse and enrich Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses in bulk

Australia Post are also planning to use Parcel Locker locations as a redelivery option for parcels that cannot be delivered to a home address. This would mean recipients get notified via SMS or email with locker access details for collection. This changes how businesses should think about delivery fallback and relates to Australia Post's 2027 requirement to capture accurate contact details at checkout.

Collecting these contact detail is straight forward with Addressfinder. Email and phone verification are available within your existing plan, with free lite versions on all paid plans at no additional cost. Read more.

Worth checking with your delivery partners whether they can accept Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses. At this stage, this is an Australia Post solution and may not be supported by all carriers or 3PLs.

What this means for your setup

Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses are now supported across address autocomplete and address verification for Australian addresses using the PAF data source. For most Addressfinder integrations, nothing needs to change. These addresses are included by default alongside other address types.

If you're using the post_box parameter, here's what to expect:

  • All addresses including Parcel Lockers (default): no post_box param set.
  • Street addresses only: post_box=0 set. Parcel Locker, Parcel Collect and PO Boxes excluded automatically.
  • Box type addresses only: post_box=1 set, for Address Autocomplete API only. Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses will now appear in your results.

For a full breakdown of configuration options across the widget, API and plugins, see the Parcel Locker configuration guide. Any questions, get in touch.
