Addressfinder completes AMAS recertification

We've passed Australia Post's AMAS recertification. It's the result of significant technical work over the past several months and confirms that our address matching continues to meet Australia Post's own standards.

What is AMAS?

AMAS stands for Address Matching Approval System. It's Australia Post's certification program for software providers that use Postal Address File (PAF) data. To be AMAS certified, a provider must demonstrate that their address matching meets Australia Post's standards for accuracy, format compliance and data handling.

Certification isn't a one-time badge. It requires ongoing recertification whenever Australia Post makes significant changes to the PAF or to the rules governing how addresses are matched and verified. Only AMAS-certified providers are authorised to use PAF data for address matching (or searching) and verification.

For Addressfinder customers, this means the address data underpinning your service is matched against Australia Post's authoritative source using a process that meets Australia Post's own standards.

Why recertification was required

Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect addresses are being added to the PAF database for the first time.

Until now, these addresses couldn't be published in the PAF because they contained a 10-digit Australia Post Customer Number (APCN) tied to an individual customer rather than a physical location. The new format replaces this with a permanent locker number, making these addresses publishable, searchable and verifiable for the first time.

This structural change to the PAF required all AMAS-certified providers to retest and recertify before the new data could be used. We completed that process in May 2026.
